The Page of Cups at The Intermission

The Intermission presents the newly formed Athenian group The Page of Cups, curated by the international Greek artist Jannis Varelas.

This event is akin to the spirit of The Intermission, which continues to invest in fostering dynamic and creative collaborations within and adjacent to the contemporary art scene. The Intermission is an exhibition program and art space in the city of Piraeus, founded by Artemis Baltoyanni.

On Saturday 28 May 2022, the five-member band The Page Of Cups will present their first four singles with the participation of rapper Mi55t, Iam Nothe (solo project of Spireas Sidiropoulos, Cyanna, and Cyanna Mercury,) and Complex Shadow (founding member of the music collective ATH Kids).

The Page of Cups (Panos Vlasopoulos, Dimitris Vlasopoulos, Jay Vlasopoulos, Thodoris Klaydianos, Christos Bekiris) introduced themselves to the public in April with the single “ADULTS”, a fusion of electronic and acoustic indie rock elements characterizes their sound.
Jannis Varelas envisions the scene and dresses the musicians with the playful aesthetic that defines his work. The artist seamlessly shifts roles, as we know him as a painter and a sculptor, but also as a director and protagonist in his performances. His characters and motifs escape from the canvas to lend their form to sculptures before meeting us again as props in interactive performances. If you feel the boundaries between the real and the imaginary disappear, it is because you have entered the unique world of Jannis Varelas.
