The documentary traces the evolution of the bouzouki over time, from the teke clubs and its status as an underground art form to its integration into the heart of Greek music.

Through interviews with prominent figures and rare archival material, Broken Sound compiles a musical and social map of the Greek 20th and 21st centuries.
